This is hanging on the wall in my brother’s garage gym.

My dad and brothers all went in together at Christmas to get me my own barbell. I’ve been using my brother, Billy’s, this whole time. And it works perfectly. But it is designed for a man’s hands. I have small hands. The one they got me is a woman’s barbell. It is lighter, but that means it looks more impressive because I get to put more weights on it. It’s also small around, which makes it more comfortable to hold.

I was lifting last week and when I put up my bar, I missed the peg. My bar and one of my brother’s bars came crashing down on my thumb and wrist. Here’s the result (a few hours later)…

Nothing was broken. It was painful and stiff. But I’ll live.

It really doesn’t hurt anymore, unless I bump it on something. It just looks really ugly. I figure it’ll be a healing bruise for at least another week. I bruise very easily and am slow to heal them.

This won’t stop me from going over his house again on Tuesday and picking up my bar again. This time, I’ll try not to drop it on any body part.
